Creating a Chill Environment

chillenvironment.PNG

How to Create a Chill Environment 😌

Want to bring some relaxing vibes into your home? Start with these three quick design tips:

1️⃣ A lighted pathway or a porch motion light 💡
If you live in a single family or townhome, adding LED lights to your walkway, or a motion light to your porch, are nice design touches.

The lights are a bright "welcome" as you walk to your casa. They can also ensure you comfortably enter your home. Let's face it, no one likes fumbling around with keys in the dark OR accidentally stepping/bumping into bushes OR being surprised by stray cats.

2️⃣ Low maintenance plants 🌱
Fresh plants are always a great addition to your home. But maintaining them, and keeping them healthy and flourishing, can be frustrating. Beautiful plants like bamboo, aglaonema modestum, or the snake plant can do well in low lighting and aren't hard to maintain. They also improve indoor air quality and overall vibe.

3️⃣ Long-burning candles 🕯
Tea lights are cute and inexpensive but unfortunately they don't burn that long. Investing in a high quality, long-lasting candle (with a burn time of 40 hours or more), can save you time and money in the long run because you won't have to keep re-lighting new candles every day or so.

Find the items above on Amazon or home improvement stores like Lowe's or Home Depot.

Good luck on creating a stress-free, relaxing environment!

Massage and Your Immune System

massageandimmunesystem.PNG

Well-known fact: Massage therapy helps to relief pain and promotes relaxation.

Did you know it can also boost your immune system, which can keep you from becoming sick?

Check out this excerpt from Live Science article about a study:

"People who received a 45-minute massage had an increased number of lymphocytes, which are white blood cells that play a large role in defending the body from disease, researchers from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles said in a statement.

'This research indicates that massage doesn't only feel good, it also may be good for you,' said study researcher Dr. Mark Rapaport, chairman of the department of psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences, at Cedars-Sinai.

The massage brought other physical changes, too. Afterwards, participants had lower levels of cytokines, which are molecules that play a role in inflammation."

Add Aromatherapy to Your Massage

aromatherapy.PNG

🌸Aromatherapy is a lovely way to enhance your in-home massage session.

Here are a few quick benefits of these popular scents:

🟪 Lavender - helps with relaxation, anxiety and sleep

🍊🍋 Citrus oils (lemon, orange, grapefruit) - are uplifting, and can help boost your mood

🌱 Eucalyptus - helps you breathe easier; is refreshing

At client request, I use a diffuser during the aromatherapy massage sessions, and I blend oils if you can’t choose just one 😊

Do you have any other questions about aromatherapy massage? Call/text me at (301) 970-9727 or visit cassiaspatherapy.com to book.

Feeling Congested? Try Eucalyptus.

Benefits of eucalyptus essential oil 🌱🌱

Many people struggle with a stuffy nose and/or chest congestion during this time of year.

Diffusing eucalyptus essential oil can help:

➡️Clear your chest by loosening mucus.

➡️Lessen the symptoms of certain respiratory conditions, allowing you to breathe more easily.

You can find it in many grocery stores, Target, etc. I usually purchase my essential oils online from @revive_essential_oils, because they're great quality at a reasonable price. It can be harmful if used directly on the skin.

Don't have a diffuser? You can sniff directly from the bottle, or add a few drops of the oil to tissue/a cotton ball to smell and receive benefits ✨✨
